Website update: See if people are online to jam with

Just a small update for those of you looking for people to jam with.  The website landing page at http://jammr.net/ now displays the number of users jamming so you can check if anyone is online to play with:

Look at the top right corner of the landing page.  If no users are online then no message is displayed.  You don't need to be logged in to see the message.

How to fill virtual space in jam sessions

Both in recorded music and live jam sessions there is a concept of "space".  The space can be virtual like when you are jamming together online using jammr or because tracks were recorded separately in a studio.  The final mix sounds best when each instrument is placed somewhere in the space.  If all instruments are playing on top of each other it's hard to tell them apart.

Private jam sessions: how to jam with just your friends

jammr lets musicians jam together online.  This means no more dragging around music gear, renting practice rooms, etc.  It means less hassle and more playing.

By default jam sessions are public so anyone can join.  You can jam with people from all over the world.  This is a really fun way to broaden not just your musical horizons but find buddies to jam with around the clock.
